The GL-C-620WL "Elite 1D2P-EXMU" solves a specific problem: running addressable (WS2812B/SK6812) and non-addressable (RGBCCT/CCT) LED strips simultaneously from a single controller, a single power supply, and a single Ethernet cable. One digital output (IO16/DATA) drives addressable strips with the full WLED effect library; two PWM outputs (IO4, IO2) independently control non-addressable analogue strips for colour, brightness, and on/off.
Practical use case: a media room or living space with WS2812B RGB accent lighting in the cove and functional CCT main strips under the cabinet, both zones controlled from WLED, fully integrated with Home Assistant, over wired Ethernet. No WiFi dropouts, no coordinator, no secondary controller.
Built-in microphone enables AudioReactive WLED effects on the digital channel. RJ45 with crystal oscillator eliminates the WiFi instability common in dense-network environments. Compare with the GL-C-618WL which provides four digital outputs for installations using only addressable strips.

WLED and Home Assistant Integration
Runs WLED firmware pre-installed. The digital output (IO16) controls addressable LED strips with the full WLED effect library: effects, palettes, segments, AudioReactive. The two PWM outputs (IO4, IO2) control non-addressable strips independently, configured as analogue output segments within WLED.
Home Assistant integration via the native WLED integration: auto-discovery, no custom components. Each output appears as a separate light entity. MQTT is supported for integration into broader automation flows.
Configuring PWM outputs in WLED: go to Config → LED Preferences → LED outputs. Set IO4 and IO2 as analogue/PWM type outputs and configure the channel order to match your strip (RGBCCT, CCT, single-colour). PWM outputs support colour, colour temperature, and brightness. They do not run pixel-by-pixel addressable effects.
AudioReactive: the built-in microphone applies to the digital output channel only. Audio-driven effects on the addressable strip will respond to ambient sound automatically when the AudioReactive usermod is enabled in WLED.
Supported addressable protocols (digital output): WS2812B, SK6812, WS2811, and other WLED-compatible addressable ICs. PWM outputs support: RGBCCT, RGBW, CCT, and single-colour non-addressable constant-voltage strips.
Wiring: Hybrid Digital and PWM Installation
V+ and V− are shared power inputs. Connect once from your DC PSU. All three outputs (digital IO16 and PWM IO4, IO2) share this common power rail and GND.
Digital output (IO16/DATA): connect the DATA wire to the DIN of your addressable strip. The strip's V+ and V− connect to the shared power rail. GND must be common between the controller and the strip.
PWM outputs (IO4, IO2): connect to the positive channel wires of your non-addressable strip (e.g. R, G, B for an RGB strip, or CW, WW for a CCT strip). The strip's V− connects to the shared GND. IO4 and IO2 are two independent PWM channels: configure them as separate output segments in WLED LED preferences for independent control.
Use a DC PSU rated at least 20% above the combined load of all connected strips. An Ethernet switch or router with a spare RJ45 port is required. This controller does not support WiFi.
FAQ
How is the GL-C-620WL different from the GL-C-618WL?
The GL-C-618WL has four digital outputs, all for addressable strips (WS2812B, SK6812, etc.). The GL-C-620WL has one digital output plus two PWM outputs for mixed installations running addressable and non-addressable strips simultaneously from a single controller.
Can I use WLED effects on the PWM outputs?
PWM outputs support colour temperature, brightness, and on/off control. Colour animation effects (fade, sunrise) work. Pixel-by-pixel effects (chase, fireworks, rainbow march) do not: these require addressable strips and the digital output.
Does this need a Zigbee hub?
No. The GL-C-620WL runs WLED over wired Ethernet. Connect it directly to a network switch or router RJ45 port, no coordinator, bridge, or hub required.
Can the digital and PWM outputs be controlled independently?
Yes. Each output is a separate WLED output segment configured independently in WLED LED preferences. Digital and PWM outputs can run different effects, colours, brightness levels, and schedules simultaneously.
